Thank you so much! I've tried to move my databases to Filemaker Pro using the 'Bento to Filemaker Migration Tool'. The results were very disappointing (e.g. Table view is not so nice as Table view in Bento- in fact its terrible, list view does't work very well, all my smart collections are gone and you can't backup data over wifi between devices).

Apple, if you are listening, Filemaker is NOT a Bento alternative! Stop killing your software (as you did with Bento, Aperture, iDvD, iWeb, etc). You are losing credibility. Show some respect to your costumers!!! Oct 22, 2014 7:44 AM.

How long did you give Bento? I just upgraded to Yosemite and found that bento was just stuck and would not load. While I was reading these posts I see that it finally loaded everything and is working fine now.

It took what I thought an inordinate amount of time (about 30 minutes) of just sitting there looking like it was frozen, but apparently that is how long it was taking to grab and load all the data. If you have not just let it sit there and do its thing, I would maybe give that a try? Just a thought.

Oct 22, 2014 3:49 PM. Thanks for testing this Justan and Marc. I wish there more about this on the internet than what I've seen and searched. The Bento forums are gone, so there is no way to communicate with other Bento users. Disertasi Hamzah Fansuri Pdf. Bento was/is everything that I needed as far as a database goes. What I especially liked was that the database syncs with the Apple Contacts app: make a change in Bento, Contacts also gets changed and the other way around.

I was wondering if any of you could do a little test for me and see if the sync still works when changes are made to either the DB and contacts? And maybe there should be a new thread called Bento DOES work Yosemite!

I haven't figured out yet how to make the Table View in TapForms to be in the same order I had on Bento. But all the data is there, and it happens very quickly with decent size databases. I'm too scared to update to Yosemite on my main computer, because I still want to use Bento for now Oct 24, 2014 6:23 PM. Thanks ghiagoo.

I've looked into TapForms, and it is interesting and seems to do everything I am looking for, including sync back and forth with the Contacts app. After having to rebuild databases with thousands of entries after Appleworks to work nicely with Bento, and now have to deal with another app, I'm a little hesitant only because of un certainty of the longevity of TapForms. As much as I dislike the idea of paying big $$$ for Filemaker, at least they've been around for sometime. I am in touch with TapForms and they are really are quick in their responses though. Anyone else care to share Bento/Yosemite experiences??? Jonathan Oct 26, 2014 10:09 AM. Yeah - here's my experience: I have FileMaker 13 through my work, but did not stop using Bento when the company stopped supporting it - I still preferred it (a 1000 times over) to FileMaker.

I updated to Yosemite, and not only will Bento NOT work (I did the 'wait a 1/2 hour for it to load', and it eventually did - once. Then froze when I tried to click on anything and hasn't loaded again since) but the Bento Migration Tool (created to move your databases to the FileMaker platform) will ALSO refuse to work. It crashes upon launch, every single time. Has anyone experienced this?? I'm left without Bento and with an inability to migrate the database to FileMaker. Same crash occurs when I try to migrate into FileMaker 12, as well, so it isn't a FileMaker 13 issue.
