Sears Kenmore Calypso Manual

My washer is an older, top-loading washer with electronic controls. We purchased it from someone on Craigslist, so we have no warranty. It is in beautiful condition and looks brand new. It worked perfectly for the month or so that we've had it, until now.

Mar 21, 2005 - Please continue posting Kenmore Elite Calypso & Whirlpool Calypso problems in this thread Part. TJ Here is a link. CURRENT SYMPTOMS: Inconsistent diagnostic test results (see below) I was surprised when diagnostic test results hinted at other problems after the pump was reinstalled. 'Water Inlet and. How to put kenmore washer 11 into diagnostic test mode and run individual test fuctions?

I loaded it the other day, and after about 30 seconds, the water stopped filling and display code indicated an 'LD', which means the drain hose is kinked or clogged. Then, after I repeatedly tried to get it to fill and run, it then displayed a 'FL' code.' Now it won't run at all. Download File Pes 2011 Pc Fraco. A repairman told us it needs a new pump & motor, costing more than what we paid for the washer. Not sure if I should trust this advice.

You can get a replacement pump at pcappliancerepair.com - part # 285990 - and a lifetime replacement warranty on the pump - for (at this time, July 2009) about $124 total. However, before you do anything you can run the washer diagnostics by pressing the following key sequence to put the washer into the Automatic Service Diagnostic mode (make sure the washer is EMPTY of clothing when you do this): Prewash Options -->Wash time -->Prewash Options -->Wash Time (also known as a 'Key Dance'). You have to press the 4 keys within 5 seconds for the washer to enter the diagnostic mode. I did the diagnostic (thank you for posting it) and it went thru just fine.

My Kenmore Elite Calypso top load washer model # 12 did not go to stand-by mode, unless stand-by mode is 'off'. We've since replaced our Elite Calypso but if I remember correctly, if the unit tends to go off balance, and toward the end of our ownership of our units this was the case, the internal wash plate (the thing that looks like a big hat) also needs to be replaced; the rubber seals on the edges lose their elasticity, a gap opens up, and clothing can get caught in between the plate and the tub, or wrap around the internal workings below that, or even get sucked into the pump's impeller, damaging it. I was intrigued that when I ordered the plate, Sears parts center personnel told me that plate has about a 2-year rubber seal life span and should be replaced as a maintenance item regularly.

Surprise, surprise! But, if the pump's impeller is clogged with or damaged by debris that was thusly sucked up because the wash plate seal has degraded, it's a vicious cycle and ends up with you replacing the pump/impeller, but if you don't replace the wash plate too (OEM item from Sears only - I never could find an after-market supplier), then the cycle continues of malfunction/eating clothing, especially clothing with draw strings. Put such articles in a wash bag (one itself without draw strings), or at least quadruple-knot the draw strings so if they do get caught, maybe they won't get sucked all the way through the mechanism into the impeller and cause it to jam and fail to drain, or damage it. Buttons, coins, any hard debris is even worse for the impeller than draw strings, which tend to wrap around the mechanism and just jam, but not necessarily damage, it - a maintenance headache, but if you are the slightest bit mechanically inclined, you can undo the hoses to the pump and reach in and pull out the debris. Just remember safety and unplug the unit!
