I'm trying to set one up to check the limits and outputs and I'm wondering if its worth the time.

I am also thinking about using one to help troubleshoot the different equipment in our plant, by downloading a program for each particular machine when needed. Anyone tried it? I cant say this cant be done but AB uses multiple communciation protocols so it wont be easy, be easier just to put an interface where its needed and leave it. The Micro has 3 options for communications, RS232, DH485 and DeviceNet. Suggestion: when posting here about a specific brand please be as specific as possible. Which plc(s) are involved and what communications protocols are used. A better answer may be formulated. - (9 posts) Jan-31-02, 07:59 AM (EST) 3.

'RE: dtam micro troubleshooting' sorry about that, all we are using is allen bradley. I have set up a dtam on a core machine to check all the limits, which enable the next part of the cycle and it seems to work ok. We are using dh485 on all of our setups, so I think I should be able to have a program for each machine and download it when needed. I figured we only use 20% of the available screens for the process, might as well use what we have left for troubleshooting. Have a great day, randy - (206 posts) Jan-31-02, 08:45 AM (EST) 4.
